When you accidentally damage a Shinto shrine, you're forced to pay off your debt by becoming a miko to the handsome spirits who live there—an irritable god, sly fox familiar, and energetic lion-dog guardian.⁠⁠

Just as you're starting to settle into your bizarre new life, an ancient, terrifying demon awakens from his long slumber. Can you work together with your allies to repel this ancient evil, or is the town doomed to suffer the same fate it did 500 years ago?⁠

Embark on an epic Japanese adventure to save the shrine and uncover deep secrets buried in the past. Discover and harness your spiritual power to protect your friends, all the while shaping your love story into a tale for the ages!⁠

Season 2:

​​Now a full-fledged miko, you've ushered in a bright era for the shrine by your beloved's side—but your peaceful routine is interrupted when the resident god receives an invitation to Kamiarizuki, an annual meeting of all eight million Shinto deities! Alongside the fox and lion-dog guardians of the shrine, you set off on a new adventure to the sacred city of Izumo.

You're excited to meet the legendary kami of Japan, but the assembly unexpectedly descends into chaos when a familiar nemesis returns with the exiled goddess of the underworld herself. Can you work together with allies old and new to save the land of the living, or will Japan fall victim to her quest for vengeance? The Irritable Kamisama Kagura

Season 1:

The demanding god of the shrine, always serious, reclusive, and unapproachable. He's critical and can be quite cruel to those who cross him, but he takes his responsibilities as a kami seriously and relies on the few he lets into his inner circle.⁠

Season 2:

When Akanojaku's twisted bargain with the queen of the underworld goes awry, Kagura is the only one who can hope to defeat her. Reluctantly, these old enemies find themselves joining forces to protect the one person that matters to them most. When all is said and done, will you swear devotion to your kami or spend eternity with a demon?
