Ikemen Prince: Interview with VA Takuya Eguchi (Nokto Klein)

Takuya Eguchi is known for playing Tenma Sumeragi in A3!, Wataru Hibiki in Ensemble Stars! Also, he's a voice actor Nokto Klein from Ikemen Prince (ikepri)!

What are your impressions of the game?

I actually knew about the Ikemen series from before, so I thought, "I'll finally get to participate!" Having the choice to choose one prince out of many is one of its intriguing aspects. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to choose one [laughs].

What were your first impressions of your character, and what do you find appealing about him?

My first impression of him was that since he's labeled as a "womanizer". I wondered how that aspect of him would turn into something positive. I hope everyone finds traits they like about him in the story, as well as enjoy discovering what he is truly like.

I think an appealing part about him is how he's like a rose — you end up falling in love with it despite it having thorns.

What were some things you were particular about I when you voiced him?

Each of the princes have their own animal motif, Nokt's being a fox. I pictured him being a person who is difficult to read, so I was mindful to speak his lines as if he hid his feelings inside a box that's inside another box. I imagined him to be an elusive character who doesn't reveal his weaknesses to the protagonist.

Who are other characters that you're interested in and why?

I guess that would be his younger twin brother, Licht. Nokt sometimes alludes to him in his lines I feel that they keep their distance from one another. I'm curious about the drama of their past, as well as how their relationship will play out.

Speaking of the title "lkemen Prince", if you were to call yourself "___ Prince", what would you put in the blank?

"Alcohol-Drinking Prince." [laughs]

If you were to ask what my defining trait is, it would be that.

Do you have a message for your fans?

He's a rather eccentric character, but his true intentions shine through occasionally. Although it's highly unlikely that anyone would fall in love with a womanizer in real life, I think you could experience what it would be like through Nokt. I'm sure that you'll get to like him once you discover what made him who he is. You'll also get to enjoy unexpected aspects of him once you get closer.
