Otome Dark Fantasy: Spooky Monster is now available on Steam!

Hi everyone! 

On April 2, 2026, the game Spooky Monster was released on Steam. I’d like to share my humble opinion, because I just finished playing it today ^^

Tomorrow I’ll post a guide on how to reach every ending in this game~~~

So, I like visual novels: comedies and tragedies, short and long, light as a sea breeze and heavy as a stone. Some you just read (once is enough) and quickly skim through the endings, while others you reread because something grabs you (the characters, the setting, the music, etc.). For me, Spooky Monster falls into the second category; novels like this will always have a place in my heart. 

Usually, in romantic novellas, they always smooth things over: no matter how you look at it, everyone has good sides that the developers highlight by the end of the game, or they quietly change (reveal) the characters’ personalities for a happy ending. Here, however, every character (truly every one, whether main or secondary) is not a hollow personality; each has their own motives, desires, goals, and beliefs. Basically, since we’re talking about another world here—a dark world—I noticed that every character, except for the main heroine, has a kind of obsession, I guess. Lianan Xi’s obsession is the funniest, but okay, I won’t spoil it; the game is short ^^

I’ll briefly list the game’s pros and cons:

• very beautiful characters and illustrations;
• the music. To be honest, I usually turn it off in games, but here it’s light and atmospheric, perfectly matching the game’s style;
• the story and personalities of ALL the characters;
• the endings (my first one was the bad one with Cyril 💖);
• a plot that doesn’t drag on;
• an affordable price;
• there are font issues in the Russian version, but the publisher has already released a patch to fix it;
• no full-screen mode;

Mini-spoiler (couldn't help myself xD):

It's a real shame you can't develop Patrick's story or your relationship with him.

To be honest, for 3/4 of the game I thought the Spirit and Patrick were connected).

About Spooky Monster

The story follows a young woman kidnapped by a demon and thrust into a parallel world teeming with monsters—zombies, ghosts, and vampires are her new neighbors. Will she find love with a monster, or will she fight tooth and nail to get back home?
