What’s the difference between give and take?

I'm not done with the walkthrough so... As I can see you can choose the ending with the highest the Give or the Take points.
But I'm not sure~

What's intimacy check and how do I get that ??
Hi~~
On a game screen press the "Visit" icon and choose your character, for example, Heliamphora. There you will see your Intimacy Points with him. If you want to increase these Points you need to touch this character on this screen (in the "Visit" room) or use items (watering can, rare steak, rubber duck, shampoo).
Every day you can touch each character 5 times per day (free).
